Karmen Pedaru & Abbey Lee: Numero Korea # 10

Another fantastic Numero Korea issue. Each Numero publication keeps getting better. Sharing the spotlight, Karmen Pedaru and Abbey Lee Kershaw, speaking of which- Karmen was one of the top catwalkers for Fall 09 but Abbey did not walk one single show due to her leg injury. I would personally like to see Karmen Pedaru in more editorials, covers and campaigns and as for Abbey Lee, just hope that we'll see here come September in SS10 fashion week.

Double Magdalena

What a month for Magdalena, appearing in Numero and Vogue Russia in the same month looking her best. I like the classic pin-up look in the Russian Vogue cover and also the ethereal beauty for the Numero cover. Surely, a top model!

Rock and Dreams : Valentino

Siri is prorably a little underrated in the modeling world. She is not a unknown but she did not have much exposure. I rarely see her in any Vogue editorials. She appears in magazines every now and then but was quickly forgotten. She looks mysterious in this ad but how can we forget how sweet and cute she looked in the Harajuku Lovers Perfume ads..

In comparison

Which of these 3 covers do you like the most? When I first saw the latest cover, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. I mean, why Liya Kebede and Natalia Vodionova, again? The title says Faces of the Moment so I was expecting newer crops of models like Karlie Kloss, Toni Garrn and Sigrid Agren. But then again this is US Vogue so of course they're going for girls with a safer bet (ie. those who can sell the magazine). In this cover, there's only 4 models who actually never appear on the US Vogue cover before- Natasha Poly, Jourdan Dunn, Anna Jagodzinska and Lara Stone. Both Liya and Natalia appeared on the models' September 2004 issue while Raquel and Caroline appeared on the May 2007 issue. So, back to the topic, my choice would be the May 2007 issue because true to the title, World's Next Top Models, all 10 cover girls are established models at that moment and still are now. As for the latest issue, it's really a mix of the past, present and future. And, what do I have to say about the Sept 2004 issue, well, all of them are really iconic by now, even those that haven't reach the status is already a very well known model. I just hope that US Vogue won't be doing this kind of cover once in a while. Why don't do it annually and please, please, please feature models on the cover. This is the only Vogue that does not put models on the cover frequently and I wonder why....(sales figure, perharps?)

Model falls

Who says being a model is all about pouting, posing and all things luxurious. The truth is, this is not an easy job at all. The runway, for one, is a dangerous place that can make or break the models' career.

Lara Stone at Karl Lagerfeld SS 07

Jessica Stam at Chloé Fall 06

Yulia Kharlaponova at Prada SS 09

Katie Fogarty at Prada SS 09

Sigrid Agren at Prada SS 09 - she did not fell but she is just so close to it

Kamila W at Vivienne Westwood SS 07
