Vogue Nippon Oct 2009: Raquel Zimmermann

When I look at the cover, omg, another dreadful one with the letter covering the model's face. Nevertheless, Raquel poses like no other- a little Diva-ish for me. I like the LV outfit without the bunny ears. The editorial that follow, No Place To Think About Tomorrow is just drop dead amazing, Raquel in her best element. By the way, Raquel manage to retain her number one spot at Models.com after all the debate whether Natasha Poly or Lara Stone will surpass her. With this kind of amount of campaigns, editorials and covers, clearly Raquel is still on the top of her game and there's surely no signs of her slowing down yet.

Gucci-nism

The horrendous Gucci campaign which I loved more and more day by day seeing only Freja and Anja rocking it in every shot they were in. I don't get Raquel's poses which I thought were funnier than fierce but Raquel being her always pulled out the most outstanding poses. I have to say that she is the only one who's not afraid of doing something different though most of us (me included) do not know how to appreciate it. Natasha did fierce in all of her shots which did not fail her but seeing it in all 8 shots makes it a little boring. Abbey, Myf, Jacquetta, Dree and Jamie are more like sidekicks here. Poor Myf, she have to stand in the background doing the same poses. If I have not noticed, I would have thought she was just cut and paste into the background. Jamie does not fit into this campaign at all- she is lost in almost all of her pics. Jacquetta has the worst outfit and hairstyle. She looks like she belongs to the guys more than the girls. Abbey and Dree- where do I start? First of all, they're more like cameos in this ad, appearing in a shot and then disappeared and appear in another shot. Their presence is forgettable. To sum it all, a rather disappointing campaign given that the cast most of the top models. Gucci could have done much better and please, why don't they change the models' outfits. It's the same as in Pre-Fall where the same outfits were used in all of their ads. Please change this formula. Is it really working, I wonder.

I'm a man and a woman

Raquel Zimmermann rocking Jean Paul Gaultier Fall Winter 09/10 Campaign.
I like the creativity of using Raquel as both the male and female model. This is something unique indeed but not convincing enough. I like the black and white effect but simply put, Raquel is not masculine enough or the other way round, means that she's more feminine looking in both version. Well, this is just my opinion, what do you think?

Bleach Blondes

First was Iekeliene. Then, Daul Kim. Now, Raquel Zimmermann has gone platinum blonde too!
Her first preview with Vogue Nippon is breathtakingly beautiful. Rumors has it that she scored a few campaigns just because she dyed her hair. Well, we'll just have to wait until the campaigns comes out.

Gap Design Edition

The time of the year has come again! This time around, Gap turns to the khaki look. The previous two designs were solely based on the white shirt. This year, 4 models were chosen to model the look and who's more suitable than Coco Rocha, Raquel Zimmermann and upcomers Arlenis Sosa Pena and Anna Jagodzinska. Good for them!

Latest model update : Caroline T is back, Raquel continues to dominate

Good news! Caroline Trentini and Raquel Zimmermann appeared in Christian Dior show today. Also spotted is Myf Shepherd and I read somewhere that Sasha is in Paris after all. I'm still worried about Freja and Coco though. Both did not appear at CD (even though they're the regulars there). I hope they will manage to show up at Chanel. Stay tuned for more updates!!

Raquel is back in Paris!

Thank God Raquel returns to the catwalk in Paris. She appears in the first day of Paris Fashion Week in Balmain. Still missing though are Coco Rocha ( she only appears in Dolce and Gabbana and Versace in Milan), Freja Beha Erichsen and Sasha Pivovarova in which all three did not walk as much show, they only totaled at 9 (even lesser than 10!). For the record, both Sasha and Freja walked for Pringle of Scotland. Sasha then continued at Alberta Ferretti, Prada and Bottega Veneta. Freja has only two- Burberry Prorsum and Etro. Not to forget, Caroline Trentini, she only did 1 show at Milan- Dolce and Gabbana. What??! 4 top models at only 8 shows?! Whatever happened to them I surely hope they will do better at Paris. Fingers crossed!!

Two's Missing, One's (finally) Appears and Another went M.I.A

Apparently Catherine McNeil's is missing in Milan because she is "unwell" and Freja has been missing too since Pringle of Scotland. But I'm so relieved when Coco Rocha finally appeared in Versace and Dolce and Gabbana for the last day of Fashion Week in Milan. By the way, Snejana Onopka and Tanya D make a comeback after going MIA in New York and I missed Raquel Zimmermann in action too. I believe Raquel did not walk any shows in Milan. Where have all the top models gone to?
