(Touch) My Body

Is this the new trend for Spring Summer 2010 campaign? Lanvin and Gucci both focus on the models' body pose rather than shooting the whole look from the model's head to toe. I think this is such a great idea. Look at the Lanvin ad, the clothes are so emphasized especially the ruffles part. But if you put Jamie Bochert standing still with those outfits, I believe it would not have the same effect. Natasha Poly did an outstanding job as the Gucci women too, so sexy, glamorous and luxurious all together. Her pose is to die for with the beautiful scenery as the background. My only complain is it looks exactly as the cruise campaign with Snejana. I can't believe the SS2010 campaign images have started to surface so soon. It's still 2009 after all. But I'm so eager to see what other campaigns would be - Prada, Chanel, Miu Miu, Versace- and the list goes on.

Gucci-nism

The horrendous Gucci campaign which I loved more and more day by day seeing only Freja and Anja rocking it in every shot they were in. I don't get Raquel's poses which I thought were funnier than fierce but Raquel being her always pulled out the most outstanding poses. I have to say that she is the only one who's not afraid of doing something different though most of us (me included) do not know how to appreciate it. Natasha did fierce in all of her shots which did not fail her but seeing it in all 8 shots makes it a little boring. Abbey, Myf, Jacquetta, Dree and Jamie are more like sidekicks here. Poor Myf, she have to stand in the background doing the same poses. If I have not noticed, I would have thought she was just cut and paste into the background. Jamie does not fit into this campaign at all- she is lost in almost all of her pics. Jacquetta has the worst outfit and hairstyle. She looks like she belongs to the guys more than the girls. Abbey and Dree- where do I start? First of all, they're more like cameos in this ad, appearing in a shot and then disappeared and appear in another shot. Their presence is forgettable. To sum it all, a rather disappointing campaign given that the cast most of the top models. Gucci could have done much better and please, why don't they change the models' outfits. It's the same as in Pre-Fall where the same outfits were used in all of their ads. Please change this formula. Is it really working, I wonder.

Fantastical Vogue China

It's not even September and Vogue China has comes out with such an outstanding issue! Sigrid Argen debuts in her first Vogue cover ( and many more to come,I believe) in this amazingly beautiful Oscar de la Renta dress.

Sigrid is, nonetheless, looking sparkling good on the cover but wait until you see what's inside. Continuing the amazing cover is a follow-up editorial titled "C'est Chic". Chic she is.

Last month, Anna Selezneva was capturing in her 32-pages editorial. This month, she is in "Be A Skin Diva", looking sensually captivating.

As every month that follows, Du Juan is a must for Vogue China. She is like a mascot to the magazine. Perharps, if there is no Du Juan, there will be no Vogue China. Du Juan is after all, dare I say, the most successful Chinese model. Yet I find this editorial an inspiring piece, most definitely because of all the things on going and I must say, the supporting models are what makes Du Juan stands out. She looks like a mentor to them.

Then, comes the must have studio shoot with Natasha Poly. Nothing quite special here except that Natasha Poly rarely appears on Vogue China and this is quite a surprise.

"Scientific Glamour" is where Eniko Mihalik shines. I like the part where she's posing next to the building background.

Lastly is the Beauty issue with Bruna Tenorio.

Everybody is talking about...

Who will helm the #1 position at models.com after Raquel Zimmermann end her 2 years run at the first position.

The votes are in and it's a battle between Natasha Poly and Lara Stone, both who are the "Faces of the Moment" for the May edition of US Vogue.

For me, it's quite clear that Natasha Poly will be chosen rather than Lara Stone simply because she's the veteran here, she's got more campaigns, walks almost all of the important shows, is one of the best catwalker around and recently appeared at the Cannes Film Festival.

But Lara Stone is certainly the underdog here. She is currently on the height of her career having an entire Vogue Paris dedicated to her.

Only models.com have the answer and for the moment, Raquel remains as number one.

Stay tuned for the result!

June Vogue

Earlier editions of Asian Vogue(s).

Lily Donaldson on Vogue China

Natasha Poly on Vogue Nippon

Not the best cover for both of them. This is just mediocre but I am still glad that they're using them as cover girls. Now, can I have Freja, Coco, Tanya, Raquel or Vlada on the other Vogue covers, please?
